Allllrighty! THIS is the extravagant, amazing, and totally awesome thing I've been working on (and that has caused me to go on hiatus since about June).

Creators: Kristie Good (me) and David Pratt (bf). I did a lot of the drafting/sewing/imaging, whereas Dave was more the master of the styrene bending/gluing. :D

Time: FAR TOO LONG. Probably like...5ish months...

There's a story to the costume: [link]

This outfit is the character Oswald from the game Odin Sphere.

And yes, I am the person wearing it. And yes, I am a girl. (Don't I make just a dashing fellow? mwahaha)

Overall this costume has been worked on physically since about the end of June, till Now. (Oct 31st) About 4 months of straight weekend work.

This outfit is about 3 layers I wear on myself:

1.) Thin turtleneck + leggings

2.) That lovely brown striped pair of pants and what we lovingly called the "Battle Thong"

3.) The Armor itself.

There are around 15+ separate pieces I put on when I wear this outfit. It's quite epic to try to get into (I will ALWAYS need a helper).

The under layers (the "leather" items) are all made of a very nice upholstery pleather, which I had a black color and a tannish color (to match the artwork). The tan "slashes" are actually pieces of the pleather I sewed to a piece of black knit so it would stretch when i move but would not float weird on me. I tried a lot of things but ran into problems, namely, none of them were tight to my body.

The black part that uh, well, the only way I can say it is the black part that's by my crotch, it's actually part of a leotard that I wear underneath the entire outfit (I'm getting pictures of each layer soon), which also matches the artwork.

Next we have the armor - it is entirely composed of polystyrene sheeting, it comes in many thicknesses, we used .02 and .04. The .02 can be folded, whereas the .04 can be heat molded. Both had good qualities and bad.

The chest coins are made of resin, of which I made the mold for out of clay and rubber.

The sword is also made of Polystyrene and Red Transparent Acrylic Plastic (for the gem). Held together mainly with Epoxy Resin compound, there is also a piece of wood, as well as pvc piping (for the handle). Inside we have a large-sized LED, in a circuit down to a 9V battery (we used some math and added a resistor to make it not burn out!).

It turns on by pressing a button in the handle which is hidden by the wrapping.

Most hilarious part of the costume? The breastplate, and some other parts are linked together with bra strap extenders. Those hooks and eyes are so handy!!

Thank you for reading down this far! Enjoy the pic. :) I'm back, guys!!!

Oh. My. God.
Christie, you win at cosplay.
For now, and forever.

Thank you very much for the compliment!

I forgot to add (It's probably not very obvious from the picture, the words were small), is that it wasn't just myself that made it. My bf dave helped me a lot with the styrene and bending and all that.

I'll pass the good word onto him though. :)

I'm going to be taking Ozzie to all my conventions in the next year, so if you're going to one of the ones I typically go to, you'll probably see it. :)

Wow, I feel really dumb. I looked you up, and realized OMG it's Alex. XD

THIS was the armor we were talking to you about at GV. :D

XDD GENIUS!

But seriously--this is really epic! And that weapon is gorgeous.

I have to ask though, was it hard to sit down in all that armor? Oo;
:iconambrosia-rose:
*deep voice* EPIC!

I had no idea what this character looked like, especially in armor, so you've totally blown me away with this! Tell Dave congrats as it looks fantastic! I LOVE the sword. Dude. It glows.

For some reason you remind me of another character... are there some sort of knights in Kingdom Hearts? With breastplates? Hmm... I'll think of it someday.
:iconimnotbenji:
Yay! :D BTW, I love the badge from NMACon. n.n
